expert epidemiologist

On March 15, 2007 Mr. Orlando spent the entire day in Miami meeting
with the
expert epidemiologist who has been retained to assist us in constructing
the
adulterated food case against ConAgra, as well as your individual cases.
The expert has been retained under exclusive contract with The Orlando
Firm,
P.C., although we may share his findings in a cooperative effort with
other
law groups in the future. While this expert witness and his team are
extremely highly respected, at this stage, we decline to identify the
expert
for legal disclosure purposes (his identity at this time remains subject
to
the attorney work-product privilege). However, with his valuable assistance
we have prepared a detailed protocol for the identification and work-up
of
all salmonella tainted peanut butter cases, as well as refined the protocol
for testing samples from individual clients, which will begin in earnest
in
the next week. The lab we have retained under a bulk rate contract is
located in Texas.
In addition to Mr. Orlando, another law firm will be working on your
cases.
We are pleased to welcome Bellovin & Karnas, P.C., our sister law
firm out
of Tucson, Arizona, onto the team. Together, we are communicating with
several other law groups around the country, seeking to selectively identify
those lawyers who we feel present a caliber of work product to make
cooperative efforts and the potential for an MDL (multi-district litigation
center among all federally filed cases) a viable and desirable option.
Finally, Mr. Orlando would like to thank whole-heartedly, all of those
folks
who have entrusted your claims to us for referring others suspected to
have
been taken ill in connection with the adulterated peanut butter at issue.
We continue to screen over a dozen potential cases each day. Additionally,
at last count some ten different law firms or lawyers around the country
have entrusted their clients’ cases to us for handling as well.
