LITIGATION PROGRESS:
On March 14, 2008, David Karnas traveled to Seattle to take the deposition (sworn testimony under cross-examination, taken down by a court reporter) of ConAgra's expert epidemiologist, Dr. Mansour Samadpour. Google him and read the many, many pages dedicated to this gentleman and you will see that ConAgra will spare no expense to limit its exposure in this case.
On Friday, March 21, 2008, David Karnas, Roger Orlando and a third lawyer from the MDL team took the deposition of Dr. Arthur Miller, a Senior Scientist and food borne illness expert. This deposition took place in Washington, DC.
Finally, on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, ConAgra lawyers will take the deposition of one of our clients/class representatives (Ms. Anne Cease) which will occur at The Orlando Firm, P.C. in Decatur, Georgia with Mr. Orlando in attendance to defend.
In sum: we continue to work hard both near and far. We enjoy our labor
and we're experts at this. We will continue to give and do our best.
YOUR COUNSEL:
We are certain you are quite familiar by now
with your lawyers. In addition to Roger W. Orlando of Atlanta, you have
heard much of M. David Karnas of Tucson, Arizona. At long last, Bellovin
& Karnas, P.C. has revamped its website for your further inquiry.
You can learn more about the other half of this team at www.BellovinKarnas.com.
GRATITUDE:
It seems that we cannot end an update without thanking everyone for their patience, confidence and support. I have given up and have reached the simple understanding that you folks deserve those same words each time we communicate. From the confidence and belief of a son in Washington State who lost his mother to tainted peanut butter which tested positive for Salmonella DNA, to the sweet lady (Ms. G. H.) in Georgia who recently sent a supportive email and even volunteered to come into our offices to work on the case! You all make up many of our daily blessings.
For all who celebrate Easter, we wish you the best in terms of renewal and peace for the holiday. To all, our best wishes and continued gratitude to you.
Roger
